#WESTERN DIGITAL SCORPIO BLACK SATA DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS 7 DRIVER#
The actual driver injeced now shows up as Intel(R) 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller using dism, and note the oem number (Published name)ĥ/ Uninstall this specific driver (in my case it was oem21.inf) using dism (ie dism /image:c:\mount /remove-driver /driver:oem21.inf)Ħ/ Unmount the image using DISM (make sure you are not in the mount directory anywhere) (ie dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:c:\mount /commit)Ĩ/ Inject the sound/VGA/AHCI/Chipset drivers into WDS Server

#WESTERN DIGITAL SCORPIO BLACK SATA DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS 7 PATCH#
The fix for me was, add the KB983018 patch and remove the IDE driver from the driverstore:ġ/ Mount your WIM file using DISM (ie dism /mount-wim /wimfile:c:\Win7.wim /index:1 /mountdir:c:\mount)Ģ/ Download from Microsoftģ/ Inject the patch using DISM (ie dism /image:c:\mount /add-package /packagepath:c:\)Ĥ/ Find the Intel IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers driver V8. So basically on startup, the machine was loading the Inter(R) PCHM SATA AHCI Controller 4 Port driver under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, rather than the standard microsoft one. To diagnose this I did the following:ġ/ Dump image down to Lenovo L510 (not an advanced format drive).Ģ/ Upon Restart, move the drive into the Aspire1 753 and allowed sysprep to finish (which worked with that h.disk).ģ/ Ghosted machine to another Aspire1 753 with an Advanced format drive in there.Ĥ/ Tried to sysprep it without the generalize command and restarted, worked fine.ĥ/ Tried to sysprep it (after a complete re-image) with the generalize command, failed. I have finally reached a solution, which was an issue with a driver on the image. My last resort may be to contact the vendor and order replacment H.Disks, but I don't think this problem will go away longĪll the details in BIOS were fine, and the BCDEDIT store was also fine (remember this image has successfully been used in over 20 different machine types). I have purchased 20 of these units, but am aware of several hundred that have been purchased by collegues with the same problem. I've also tried injecting the drivers into the WDS Server (2008 R2), but that didn't help. I've also tried dumping the image down to another machine, installing the KB982018 and then sysprepping and capturing the image again, but it still won't deploy. I've tried injecting KB982018 into the image using DISM, but had the same problem. So far, the problem seems to be with the WD Hard Disk in the machine (as a different hard disk actually works) which is formatted with "Advanced Format Technology". 11:27:25, Error IBS Callback_Specialize: An error occurred while either deciding if we need to specialize or while specializing dwRet = 0x4b8ĭuring the sysprep phase after the machine has been imaged, it stops at "Setup is applying system settings" with an error "Windows Setup Cannot Configure Windows to run on this computers hardware" 11:27:25, Error SYSPRP LaunchDll:Failure occurred while executing 'C:\Windows\System32\scecli.dll,SceSysPrep', returned error code 1208 10:51:35, Error WDS Callback_WdsClient_ConnectToImageStore: Connect to image store failed. I'm getting the following error in the setuperr.log file (C:\Wiondows\Panther directory): I'm after a little assitance with a new Aspire1-753 model netbook that I am trying to deploy my standard Windows 7 image to (has been deployed so far to over 20 different hardware machine types without failure).
